Meet The Elders

The Leaders of the church are called Elders. Elders are the spiritual leaders in our congregation. Biblically Elders are given the responsibility to lead the church through good solid teaching, either by teaching themselves or ensuring others are teaching well.  They also look after and care for members of the church as counselors and caring men.

Elders, Shepherds, and Overseer are all titles/descriptions of the office of Elders. All three terms are based on the example of the New Testament church.  In both Acts 20 and 1 Peter 5 we read all three terms applied to the same group of leaders and their work in the church.

Elders are not expected to do all the work or look over the shoulder of members.  Rather they have the ultimate responsibility to make sure each ministry is functioning as it should. In each congregation of the New Testament where we read about Elders, there was always more than one Elder.  They shared the work of the "Eldership."  Elders then work together and make decisions as a group.

Elders are selected from among the congregation. Elders are added based on men who meet the qualifications of Elders which can be found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.

Keith Dart

Keith and his wife, Anzie, became members of the Loveland congregation in 1985.  They were married in 1962 and have three grown children.  Their daughter, Connie Horvath and her family also attend here in Loveland.  Keith spent 32 years working as an air traffic controller for the Federal Aviation Administration and is retired and enjoying outdoor activities.  He has served as one our elders since 1986.  Anzie is a homemaker and enjoys teaching children’s Bible classes, walking and reading.  Keith wants the Loveland congregation to have peace to allow for spiritual growth of both individual families and the congregation as a whole.

Jim Elliott

Jim and his wife Connie have been members of the Loveland congregation since 1991.  They were married in 1963 and have two grown sons; James, who lives and worships in the Denver area, and Gary and family worship here in Loveland.  Jim has served as an elder in Loveland since 1995.  Jim would like to encourage the Loveland congregation to be more evangelistic in our local community.

Ron Lauterbach

Ron and his wife Lynn began to worship with the Loveland congregation in 1974.  They have been married since 1972 and have four grown children.  Ron worked for 30 years in public education.  He served as our pulpit minister from 2002-2017 and has been one of our elders since 2005.  He enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.  Lynn is retired from being a middle school science teacher and educational consultant.  She enjoys the outdoors, her grandchildren and working with kids.  Ron would like to see the Loveland congregation grow in love, be faithful to God’s word and be effective in His service.
